'Natural Histories' Launch

Here are a few shots, taken mostly during the early stages of the opening night. My partner Shane Jones was delegated photographer and took all but one of them. Thanks to Deborah Bradbury for the last photograph (directly above) of Shane and I with artist Hannah Bertram. Later it became too crowded and we got too distracted by the countless conversations that occur at a busy opening. It was fantastic to see so many people, including friends and fellow artists. Thank you to everyone who came and made it such a memorable evening for me.

Special thanks to Delwyn Freestone, Director of Chrysalis Gallery, who has taken so much care with every aspect of the exhibition. Warm thanks also to Andrew Gunnell of Chrysalis Gallery.

I'm a little nervous about this one...

She's called, "Escape the Tower" and she's part of the Enchantment line. For some reason I just don't feel like she's up to the same standards as the rest of the line. Maybe it's the happy dolphins. They take away from her dramatic flair. I wanted it to seem like she's escaping the tower and the world is happy and waiting for her out there. LOL!  I hope you all like her. I enjoyed creating her. Have a wonderful evening.

I'm passably crafty... You rock!!!

Good afternoon everyone,
A TSB designer, Stacie Gorse, had the most brilliant quote on her blog that I just had to pass along to all my crafty blogger friends,

"Once upon a time if you wanted to be an artist you had to drag your portfolio to gallery after gallery, agent after agent, hoping someone will like you and give you an audience. That’s not true anymore. The internet has equalized things, you don’t have to be the most popular crafter at your local scrapbooking store. You don’t have to have a large following to start a blog. You don’t have to stay awake until the wee hours of the morning practicing with your markers before your stuff is good enough to show the world. You don’t need someone to give you permission to be an artist because you already are one.  Be you, because you rock. Blog now, share your stuff now, just because you can."

Isn't this awesome? Colleen  owns an amazing store (link above) with everything Copic.
If you love this quote, pass it along. Just make sure Colleen gets her credit. :)
Now, start creating!
